Training program in classic psychodrama for the first generation psychodramatists in SA

The psychodrama practice hours = 160.
Together 880 hours.
The duration of the psychodrama training is 5 years

First module = 50 h.

2 modules (75 h)/year = 150h/y

 

2019 – 50+75 = 125 h –I + II m.

2020 – 2×75 = 150 h – III + IV m

2021 – 2×75 = 150 h – V + VI m

2022 – 2×75 = 150 h – VII + VIII m

2023 – 2×75 = 150 h – IX + X m

Content of the training programs

In the 720 contact training hours, there will be:

  • 200 hours of PD self experience (ongoing group),
  • 140 hours for theory and techniques,
  • 300 hours of training for conducting inside the advanced training group
  • 80 hours of supervision. In these 80 hours of supervision there will be a minimum of 40 hours supervision of the individual psychodrama trainee or of a trainee team conducting a group.

I + II modules – Group for personal and professional development (= self experience, continue in next modeles)

III m – the five basic elements of psychodrama: protagonist, auxiliary ego, audience, stage, director; the 3 phases of PsDr session – warm up, action and sharing; the basic techniques: role reverse, doubling, mirroring; practicing leading in the training group under direct supervision, process analyze, protocols (reports)

IV m – Historic and philosophical foundations of psychodrama. Spontaneity and creativity. Tele, transference, empathy. Encounter. The action phase and the roles of directorSurplus-reality. Practicing leading in the training group under direct supervision

V m – Therapeutic process and therapeutic factors in psychodrama (action catharsis, action insight, corrective emotional experience, etc.). Role-theory. Role-conflicts. Sociometry. Sociodrama. Different forms of psychodrama Practicing leading in the training group under direct supervision

VI m – Resistance as challenge. Psychodrama work with dreams, fairy tales, fantasies.  Psychodrama work with conflicts.  Abreaction of aggression.  Psychodrama with early traumas Practicing leading in the training group under direct supervision

VII m -Psychodrama & coping with losses‘.  Psychodrama with victims of violence. Psychodrama in individual therapy and counseling. Psychodrama in family therapy and counseling. Transgenerational psychodrama. Practicing leading in the training group under direct supervision. Instruments for researching own psychodrama practice. Preparation for leading own group and for writing thesis 

VIII m – Application of psychodramatic and sociometric techniques in consulting teamsorganizations and institutions. Psychodrama & theatre.
